Melotin MR is available in packs of 15 and 30 tablets without a prescription for the short-term treatment of primary insomnia characterised by poor quality of sleep in patients who are aged 55 or over.
Melotin MR is used for the short-term treatment of primary insomnia characterized by poor quality of sleep-in patients who are aged 55 years of age or over.
As we age, the body releases less melatonin naturally.
Melotin MR is a slow-release melatonin formulation that is intended to last throughout the night. This slow releasing form is designed to mimic naturally-occurring melatonin.
Take one 2mg tablet daily, 1-2 hours before bedtime and after food. May be taken for up to 3 weeks.
Melotin MR helps patients with primary insomnia to fall asleep more easily, improve sleep quality and wake feeling alert.
It is not recommended to drive or operate machinery for 8 hours after you take it. Melotin MR does not impair morning alertness, but if you suffer from drowsiness during the day, you should consult your doctor.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you:
- Are pregnant and/or breast feeding
- Have any other medical conditions:
• Liver problems
• Kidney problems
• An autoimmune disease
• A hereditary problem of galactose intolerance, LAP lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption
• take any medicines for any other condition
All medicines can have side effects. If you do experience any side effects, most of them are minor and temporary. However, some side effects may need medical attention. Refer to the CMI for additional information.
